Home/Non-Surgical Procedures/Restylane®

Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler and was the first hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler introduced to the United States. With the introduction of Restylane® in 2002, the once popular human and bovine collagen dermal fillers became extinct. Restylane® is commonly used to minimize the appearance of aging, leaving you looking well-rested with smooth, healthy, beautiful skin. It helps combat the natural aging process, which causes skin to lose volume and develop fine lines and wrinkles. Our West Palm Beach plastic surgeons have years of experience with Restylane®, with *most patients achieving results for up to six months. Studies have shown that when injected, Restylane® stimulates the area of injection to produce its own collagen. Restylane® is the second most popular HA filler in the United States with JUVÉDERM® holding the most popular spot. Dr. Mark Pinsky is a nationally-certified injection trainer for Restylane®. Less than 1% of injectors can say this!

Restylane® treatment can provide a number of benefits, including:

  • Minimal treatment time – can usually be completed during a lunch break

  • *Long-lasting results – benefits typically last up to six months, and can be maintained with follow-up treatment, if needed

Commonly Treated Areas

Restylane® can be used to treat many areas of the face, including:

  • Tear troughs
  • Nasolabial folds (between the nose and mouth)
  • Corners of the mouth
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Lips

*How Does It Work?

Restylane® is injected directly into the treatment areas with a tiny needle. A topical anesthetic can be used prior to receiving the injections to minimize any possible discomfort during treatment. Like a sponge, the solution should bond to your skin’s natural moisture, softening any wrinkles and restoring fullness and volume in areas of the skin. Restylane® treatment can usually be completed within a lunch hour, typically taking about 15 to 30 minutes. While individual results can vary, many patients experience benefits of treatment immediately after the procedure, and benefits often last for up to six months or longer.

What About After My Injection?

Some bruising, swelling, and redness may occur following treatment. However, side effects are usually minimal and generally subside quickly. We recommend patients avoid strenuous activities for the rest of the day following treatment, but they can usually resume normal activities by the next day at the latest.
