How Long Do Liposuction Results Last?
Since we do not grow new fat cells, the cells removed in a liposuction procedure do not regrow. It is important, however, to maintain a healthy diet and active lifestyle after liposuction to help preserve results. Still, patients who experience mild to moderate weight gain after liposuction commonly say that their body distributes weight more proportionately than it did before surgery. Treated areas can often remain comparatively more slender than untreated areas over time, which is a significant long-term benefit.
Most of our patients are very satisfied with their liposuction results and enjoy their leaner contours for many years after the procedure. It is possible to undergo liposuction again in the future if post-surgical weight gain (perhaps due to pregnancy) affects the appearance of your results, or creates new problem areas you would like to address.
