49% of Men Now Embrace Cosmetic Surgery to Improve Their Looks
A recent survey conducted by the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) shows that more men now embrace cosmetic surgery. About 49 percent of the male survey respondents offered positive points of view on cosmetic surgery and are open to the idea of going under the knife to correct their physical flaws and improve their looks. According the study, about 41 percent of men who want to have cosmetic surgery are around the ages of 35 and 50 while about 23 percent are around are age of 51 and 64. According to ASAPS, liposuction, rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, breast reduction and ear surgery are the most sought after cosmetic procedures among men. Botox® and skin resurfacing are also popular especially among men who are 40 years old and above.
A few years ago, men are more concerned about going to the gym and building muscles. Things have changed since then and most men are now concerned about their overall appearance rather than just the way their shoulders and biceps look. Note that in this very competitive society, good looks can boost ones chances of getting a better paying job so men who want to stay ahead of the competition are very keen at looking good all the time.
The fact that a lot of men tend to stay socially active through their golden years also help boost the demand for male cosmetic surgery. Botox® and skin resurfacing are especially popular among aging baby boomers.
