CoolSculpting® and DualSculpting™ – Palm Beach Plastic Surgeon Discusses Non-Surgical Liposuction Alternatives
Doctor at Pinsky Plastic Surgery says DualSculpting™ can reduce overall treatment time while helping patients get rid of excess fat without the need for invasive surgery.
West Palm Beach, FL – For decades, surgical liposuction has served as a way for people to get rid of excess fat in areas that have proven resistant to diet and exercise. Board-certified Palm Beach plastic surgeon Mark Pinsky, MD says liposuction may be necessary for some patients to achieve their goals, but not all of them. In fact, he says, advanced procedures such as CoolSculpting® and DualSculpting™ are helping both women and men who are looking to eliminate isolated pockets of excess fat do just that without the need for needles, incisions, or surgery of any kind.
Dr. Pinsky says CoolSculpting® is somewhat revolutionary in the field of cosmetic enhancement and body recontouring. The FDA-approved procedure involves a handheld device that is guided over the areas targeted for fat removal. Using a process called Cryolipolysis™, CoolSculpting® ultimately causes the excess fat cells to break down. The body’s inflammatory response system can then filter the fat cells out through natural processes. At Pinsky Plastic Surgery, patients sometimes start seeing the effects about three weeks after the treatment, with optimal results typically apparent after two to three months. Dr. Pinsky notes that CoolSculpting® can be very beneficial for areas such as the flanks (love handles), abdomen, inner and outer thighs, upper arms, and back.
Dr. Pinsky says one of the many advantages of CoolSculpting® is its non-invasive nature. Many of his patients relax during the procedure by watching television, reading a magazine, or even taking a nap. Once it’s complete, he says most patients return to work or other daily activities, without the need for recovery time. While CoolSculpting® could sometimes require multiple treatment sessions or a single, long period in the office to treat each target area, Dr. Pinsky says DualSculpting™ is a remedy to that. By using two CoolSculpting® systems in the same procedure, he notes that DualSculpting™ offers patients a way to decrease overall treatment time and maximize the results from a single appointment.
Dr. Pinsky says DualSculpting™ or CoolSculpting® procedures may be ideal for some, but not for others. They note that these treatments can be very useful for patients who are in relatively good shape but have certain areas exhibiting moderate amounts of excess fat that can be recontoured with CoolSculpting® techniques. Liposuction, Dr. Pinsky says, may be a better alternative for patients who are affected by larger, more significant fat pockets. He also says the best way for individuals to know if they are a candidate for DualSculpting™ or CoolSculpting® is to consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate their needs and talk with them about their options.
Ultimately, Dr. Pinsky says, CoolSculpting® and DualSculpting™ are procedures that are becoming more and more popular because they can help a growing number of patients who want to improve their body contours without the downtime associated with surgery. For many patients, these treatments can fulfill their needs with results that they are happy with, no recovery time, and effective outcomes that address problems even the strictest gym routines and dietary habits can’t resolve.
