PRX Derm Perfexion is a “no-peel” (or “reverse peel”) solution that can produce brighter, tighter, and more hydrated skin. Originally developed to treat scarring in children, the PRX Derm Perfexion formula can offer the same revitalization benefits as a chemical peel, but without bothersome side effects.

This scientifically-backed formula is generally safe for all skin types and can address a wide variety of concerns. Designed to bypass the epidermis (or outermost layer of skin) to boost collagen production in the deeper dermis and basal layers, PRX Derm Perfexion can significantly improve the skin’s vitality and appearance.*

Who Is a Candidate for PRX Derm Perfexion?

PRX Derm Perfexion has proven to be advantageous for many due to its versatility. What’s more, the solution can deliver stunning and long-lasting results, effectively addressing nearly any cosmetic imperfection or skin health concern. That said, our team at Pinsky Plastic Surgery understands that no procedure is right for every patient. As such, we will perform a thorough examination of your overall wellness and skin care needs before deeming PRX Derm Perfexion the right choice.

How Does PRX Derm Perfexion Treatment Work?

The distinctive blend of ingredients in PRX Derm Perfexion can deliver remarkable effects by penetrating deeply into the dermal and basal skin layers. This extensive reach was designed to stimulate comprehensive rejuvenation and healing. Each active ingredient plays a unique role in the process, as outlined below:

  • Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is frequently used for exfoliation in chemical peels for its ability to stimulate the growth of fibroblasts. TCA contains a plethora of anti-inflammatory properties and can eliminate bacteria, microbes, dirt, and debris that accumulate within the pores.
  • Kojic acid, a brightening agent, can inhibit melanin production. This often makes it ideal for enhancing skin tone, reducing pigmentation, and achieving a healthier-looking complexion.
  • Hydrogen peroxide releases oxygen and lifts out particles. This key ingredient serves to polish the surface layers and deeply penetrate the skin.

Moreover, like other non-surgical options offered at Pinsky Plastic Surgery, the treatment itself is designed to be quick, typically lasting about 30 to 45 minutes. In general, patients receive between two and five PRX Derm Perfexion applications within the same session, and most experience little to no discomfort during the procedure.

Are Any Side Effects Associated with PRX Derm Perfexion?

Immediately after a PRX Derm Perfexion treatment, you may notice tingling, warmth, itching, redness, or slight inflammation, but these should fade within a few hours. Unlike chemical and laser peels, your skin is much less likely to peel after PRX Derm Perfexion; however, some peeling can occur in areas with thicker skin. Sensitive skin, such as around the eyes, may experience mild swelling. Furthermore, all side effects should subside within a week.

How Long Do PRX Derm Perfexion Results Last?

The number of PRX Derm Perfexion sessions needed, as well as the longevity of results, will vary depending on the desired goals and conditions. For instance, skin tightening can generally be achieved with one session a week for about a month, whereas stretch marks can often be combated within 10 weeks. For conditions such as stretch marks and scars, one treatment should be permanent. Moreover, for acne, chronic skin conditions, and general enhancement of skin health and appearance, a series of PRX Derm Perfexion sessions should be repeated at least yearly. During your initial consultation, we will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
